What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Housing RS position at Oriana House, Inc.?
Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Learns new tasks, remembers processes, maintains focus, completes tasks independently, makes timely decisions in the contexts of workflows, and is able to complete tasks that have a speed and/or productivity quota.
OPERATIONAL DUTIES
- Maintains adherence to office hours ensuring residents have access to office for individualized needs.
- Reads, initials, and dates shift reports within first 60 minutes of shift. Scans same to supervisors and case manager when shift is completed. Starts shift report for next shift.
- Checks all perimeter doors at the onset and end of each shift to ensure they are locked and alarms are armed. Records results of check on shift report each shift.
- Performs radio checks at the onset of each shift. Reports all radio issues/problems to supervisor. Documents check on shift report.
- Maintains chain of custody for facility keys. Does effective key transfer at shift change accounting for all keys and tracks keys at all times. Follows emergency key procedures.
- Consistently adheres to, enforces, and effectively implements Agency and program policies and procedures and keeps current of any changes in policies and procedures.
- Accurately accounts for the whereabouts of each resident by conducting and documenting facility whereabouts at minimum of two (2) times per shift in accordance with Agency policy and procedures.
- Maintains an active presence in common areas. Checks for unsafe conditions and facility and apartment cleanliness. Documents and corrects conditions/takes steps to correct conditions as required.
- Completes scheduled activities including, but not limited to: Recovery Apartment intakes, random alco-sensor tests, urine drug screens, apartment searches, daily apartment checks to ensure residents are accounted for, overnight safety and sanitation checks, and emergency drills (fire, tornado, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures. Enter results in ORION under Shift Management as necessary.
- Observes and accurately documents residents’ behavior ensuring they are following the Code of Conduct.
- Intervenes as necessary to protect residents from injuring other residents, staff, and/or themselves according to policy.
- Effectively communicates emergency situations in a timely manner to co-workers and a facility supervisor as required. Completes required documentation in an accurate timely manner.
- Notifies a facility supervisor immediately when law enforcement officers and/or fire department, EMS personnel are called to the facility.Maintains confidentiality of resident files and individual resident logs.
- Completes accurate data entry to include, but not limited to: resident logs, action reports, alco-sensor results, and search reports,
- Accurately completes the following documentation during the shifts: whereabouts/counts, shift reports, individual logs, circulations, perimeter checks, and daily clean up lists. Obtains verification of whereabouts from residents when necessary. Follows AWOL protocol.
- Documents unusual activity, vandalism, maintenance issues, injuries, and medical concerns as needed. Notifies appropriate supervisor as necessary.
- Observes, at minimum, one hour of security camera footage and documents same on Preview Camera sheet. Notifies supervisor of any concerns.
- Files and scans paperwork (sign out logs, UDS sheets, Group Rosters, Passes, etc.). Bands, labels, and places paperwork at month end into a storage box in the medication room.
- Collects samples and verifies they samples are entered accurately in ORION. Verifies all UDS samples and consistent with the UDS Specimen Transportation Log. Conducts alcohol testing in accordance with Agency policy and procedure. Records results in ORION.
Schedule: Full-time 12p-8a
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in human services field preferred. Relevant job experience may be substituted for preferred college degree. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance. Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending. Has the ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies. Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse resident population.
