We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our In Vivo Pharmacology Department at ORIC. In this role, you will be responsible for leading research efforts to interrogate mechanistic biology of clinical molecules focused on developing therapeutics to overcome drug resistance in cancer. You will drive experimental activities, execute and oversee studies that inform clinical development decision-making. The ideal candidate will have expertise in chromatin/epigenetics biology, experience in epigenetic research techniques, familiarity with in vivo PK/PD analysis, anti-tumor efficacy studies, and ex vivo PD/biomarker analysis. We are seeking a strong team player with a passion for scientific discovery who can provide scientific leadership within the In Vivo Pharmacology team. A keen interest in basic science and its application to drug discovery and translational research is essential.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in our South San Francisco location is between $140,000-$170,000 for a senior scientist. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the title, type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Responsibilities
Job Description
- Lead and contribute to oncology research efforts at ORIC, driving innovation and advancements.
- Apply expertise to identify and address critical biological questions.
- Conceptualize, plan, design, and execute research projects.
- Demonstrate independent thought and creativity in the development and execution of projects.
- Initiate and manage collaborations with academic institutions and contract research organizations (CROs) to deliver high-quality data efficiently.
- Serve as an effective scientific communicator, presenting research findings clearly and engagingly to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ph.D. in biology, molecular biology, cell biology or related discipline with postdoctoral training (or evidence of equivalent industry experience) with at least 3-6 years of professional / industry experience
- Proven expertise in chromatin biology, epigenetics or transcriptional regulation
- Experience in the field of hormone-driven cancers is a plus
- Experience applying and integrating transcriptional and epigenetic profiling to interrogate biological questions, and have expertise in epigenetic techniques, such as ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq
- Familiarity with contributing to study reports to support IND filings is desirable
- Proficiency working with SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Prism and Benchling or other electronic notebook.
- Evidence of scientific excellence and impact quantified by scientific publications and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively lead/facilitate in environment with site-based and remote team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Succinct but thorough communication with attention to detail, analytical/critical thinking, and data organization, presentation, and inference.
