About Us:
Oriental Garden is a well-established Chinese restaurant in Haverhill, MA, known for its delicious cuisine, welcoming atmosphere, and vibrant function room events. We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to oversee bar and restaurant operations, enhance customer experience, and drive promotions for our expanding bar program.
Responsibilities:
- Bar & Restaurant Operations Management: Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth coordination with the kitchen to pair drinks with food specials and maintain high-quality service.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with Massachusetts ABCC laws and train staff on TIPS certification to promote responsible alcohol service.
- Staff Training & Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage bar staff to uphold excellent service, proper alcohol handling, and food pairing recommendations.
- Promotions & Events: Develop and execute drink promotions, specialty cocktails, and collaborate with the kitchen on food-and-drink pairing specials for events like Karaoke and Comedy Nights.
- Customer Service & Experience: Create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring seamless bar and restaurant service while handling customer inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
- Sales Growth: Implement creative strategies to increase drink and food sales through menu pairing, combo deals, and upselling techniques.
- Marketing Support: Work with management to promote the bar and restaurant on social media and attract new customers.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards in drink presentation, consistency, cleanliness, and collaboration with the kitchen for food service excellence.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Bar Manager or Lead Bartender in a high-volume restaurant or bar.
- ABCC & TIPS Compliance: Knowledge of Massachusetts ABCC laws and experience enforcing alcohol regulations. TIPS certification is required (or must be obtained upon hiring).
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to train, motivate, and manage staff performance across both bar and restaurant service.
- Sales & Promotions: Experience in creating successful specialty drink menus, food-and-drink pairings, and restaurant promotions to increase revenue.
- Customer Service: Passion for hospitality with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience using POS systems and basic social media marketing skills are a plus.
