What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deposit Operations Analyst position at Origin Bank?
Summary Responsible for the day-to-day functions associated with IRA and HSA accounts; monitoring accounts and required documentation; maintaining monthly reports; and handles a high volume of customer inquiries by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Responsible for the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) monitoring including reviewing daily reports, verifying all posted contribution and distribution transactions, re-coding contributions and distributions as necessary for accurate IRS reporting, verifying accurate account setup, verifying accurate and complete documentation in Accusystems.
- Assists in Online Account Creation (OAC), monitoring/completing rate variance request changes, B-notice reporting, NRA monitoring, annual escheatment, and Regulation O/employee coding.
- Verify accuracy and validity of all new and revised deposit account documents including all retirement accounts and health savings accounts.
- Processes transfer requests for HSAs and IRAs.
- Remains up-to-date on any and all regulation changes as it pertains to retirement accounts and health savings accounts along with conducting proper notification of such changes to all IRA and HSA participants.
- Ensures accuracy and proper distribution of all tax related documents as it relates to the IRA and HSA bank portfolio.
- Identify, research, and merge duplicate customer profiles.
- Reviews all new customer records to ensure compliance with the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements.
- Reviews new customer records for completion of OFAC screening, ID verification screening, and Qualifile checks.
- Reviews entity documentation submitted for new business customers to ensure compliance based on business type and the state where the account was opened.
- Reviews Beneficial Ownership relationships and documentation for new business accounts and existing accounts with triggering events.
- Reviews CIP maintenance changes on Consumer and Business records to determine the need for supporting documentation.
- Assists with M&A projects; including but not limited to Customer Information and Deposit Accounts.
- Assists Lift-Out teams in new markets with the setting up of new customers and new accounts.
- Perform daily functions in a timely manner without jeopardizing quality and accuracy.
- Perform all duties with respect of confidentiality of client information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
- Open and maintenance internal DDA accounts as requested.
- Serves as a liaison to Retail partners with operational questions and assistance.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with at least one year banking experience, account training, or account opening.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in computer applications such as the Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Ability to use basic office machines. Ability to learn bank-specific software such as MPC, IBS, ADP, etc.
