Position Overview:

Origin Engineering LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager – Telecom to spearhead growth initiatives within the telecommunications industry. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, and oversee the acquisition of contracts with telecom providers, government agencies, and related stakeholders. This role requires a thorough understanding of telecom infrastructure, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development and Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand Origin Engineering’s market presence in the telecommunications sector.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities with telecom providers, infrastructure companies, and government agencies.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and projects.

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the telecom industry.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical insights and solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and reviews to ensure client satisfaction and identify additional business opportunities.

Contract Acquisition and Proposal Management

  • Lead the development of proposals, bids, and RFP responses for telecom-related projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of proposals that align with client specifications and company capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable outcomes for both Origin Engineering and the client.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Analyze market data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and forecasts on business development activities.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies in all business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all sales activities, contracts, and client communications.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the telecom industry.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a technical or infrastructure-driven industry.
  • Deep understanding of telecom infrastructure, including wireless networks, fiber optics, and related technologies.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales-related software.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with telecom providers, contractors, or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the telecommunications sector.
  • Established network within the telecom industry.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires travel to client locations, industry events, and trade shows.
  • Standard office environment with occasional site visits to assess project requirements and opportunities.
