What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement and Purchasing Manager position at Original Saw Company?
Original Saw Company is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Procurement and Purchasing Manager to join our in-office team in Britt, Iowa. In this key role, you’ll manage sourcing and purchasing for both Original Saw Company and our sister company, Williams & Hussey Machine and Tool. You'll work hands-on with inventory, vendor relationships, purchasing systems, and quality control to support our day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Create and manage purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery
- Oversee inventory levels and supplier relationships
- Perform QC inspections on incoming parts and outbound machinery
- Review and update BOMs and procurement systems
- Collaborate across sales, operations, and production
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing processes
- Attend trade shows as needed
- Experience with procurement, vendor management, and inventory control
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/accounting software
- Mechanical aptitude; ability to read diagrams and technical documents
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with forklift and pallet jack operations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
