Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for spine and joint procedures.
- Confirm and document patient benefit information, including deductibles, co-pays, and coverage limits.
Authorization Processing:
- Initiate and manage the authorization process for spine and joint treatments with various insurance providers.
- Stay current on insurance regulations and policies to ensure accurate and timely authorization submissions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary clinical documentation for authorization requests.
- Initiate prior authorizations for medications
Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the clinic, insurance companies, and patients to resolve any authorization-related issues.
- Communicate authorization status updates to relevant stakeholders, including clinic staff and patients.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of authorization requests, approvals, and denials.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant documentation and reporting requirements.
Problem Resolution:
- Proactively identify and address potential issues that may impact the authorization process.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve any authorization-related challenges.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare administration, with a focus on insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Familiarity with spine and joint procedures and terminology is a plus.
Skills:
