Orion Education and Training, one of seven service center agencies in the state of Kansas, has an opening for a Technology Director. The Technology Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of the company’s technology infrastructure. This includes managing the network, servers, workstations, mobile devices, and other related systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network Administration:
- Plan, design, and implement and maintain the school's network infrastructure, including wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues.
- Ensure network security and data integrity through firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Manage network access and user accounts.
- Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
- Workstation Support:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot workstations (desktops, laptops, Chromebooks).
- Provide software and hardware support to all employees.
- Manage software licenses and deployments.
- Assist with the selection and procurement of new hardware and software.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in network administration and systems support.
- Proven experience with network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, wireless), servers, workstations, and mobile devices.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with educational technology and its integration into the classroom.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with budgeting and procurement processes.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network , Server , Security , Microsoft certifications) preferred.
