Development Scientist I

Hourly Rate: $25-28/hr (individual medical benefits available at a cost)
Orion Group is seeking for Development Scientists for our premiere medical device manufacturing client in West Sacramento, CA! This is an early-career opportunity to work with the best in the industry!
The Development Scientist will support microbiological lab activities for antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST).
Responsibilities:
- Duties will include: subculturing isolates for testing, performing laboratory experiments, documenting results, and maintaining a safe environment within the laboratory.
- Updating project lead(s) with data and any issues will be required, as well as an ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Life Science or related field with 2 years laboratory experience.
- Skill Requirements: aseptic technique, GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), some knowledge of microbiology, ability to multi-task, and good organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to problem solve is a must.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly changing task environment and with variety of tasks.
- Familiarity with Excel and data analysis is desired.
Job Types: Contract, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
