What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Associate position at Orion Group?
Location: Waukegan, IL
Contract Length: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $18-20/hr
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the physical quality of product manufactured and also make sure the Durable & Consumable, commodities and raw materials used in the Drug Product and Drug Substance manufacturing areas comply with quality requirements according to procedure and material specifications.
This position requires experience with performing visual inspections, defect recognition, and use of calibrated rulers, micrometers, and calipers to conduct quality review of incoming materials. This position does NOT involve analytical testing.
Responsibilities:
- Material inspection of Durable & Consumable, commodities and raw material according to procedure.
- Take Sampling of incoming material according to procedure and per material specifications.
- Enter result of inspection in computer systems.
- Segregate material for rejected materials.
- Responsible of visual test and dimensional test of commodities used in the Drug Substance area.
- Release incoming material in system.
- Verify documentation generated according to procedures.
- Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EHS) systems and promote continuous improvement.
- Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.
Years of experience/education and/or certifications required:
- 1-3 years of experience in Incoming Quality Assurance
- High School or (GED) with two (2) years of experience in biologics or pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of good manufacturing (GMP) and safety practices.
- Experience driving forklifts and handling materials is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge in computer systems.
