Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time phlebotomist to represent Orion Laboratories to patients and clients. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills for interacting with clients, management, and other team members. Throughout the week, staff members in this role can work in various settings, such as patient service centers, nursing homes, clinics, and family medicine practices.
Pay and Benefits:
- $16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients of all age ranges
- Appropriately label samples for routine testing and analysis
- Accurately enter patient data, order choices, and specimen details into the system
- Monitor inventory and manage supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Package specimens for transport
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients and clients
Required Qualifications:
- Venipuncture experience with all age ranges
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in email communication and basic computer functions
- Licensure - National phlebotomy certification required; Louisiana state phlebotomy certification preferred but not mandatory
- All candidates must pass a background check in compliance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) guidelines, particularly for positions in nursing homes or other monitored healthcare facilities
- High school diploma; GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy: 2 years of experience
License/Certification:
- Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License (Required)
Work Location: In-person; Baton Rouge, Covington, Denham Springs, and New Orleans, LA
