Job Summary :
Orion Solution Group is working with an intermodal transportation firm to place a Driver Qualifications and Claims Manager who will be responsible for the general oversight of driver qualification recordkeeping and vehicle insurance claims management for our client and its subsidiary companies.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Driver Qualification Records
Utilize acquired knowledge of driver safety, including FMCSA& State regulations to maintain proper compliance for each company under the client umbrella.
Follow strict processes and procedures to ensure Federal& State compliance.
Audit and provide oversight for internal systems and programs.
Audit DQF and Equipment files (oversight) in a timely manner (scheduled).
Motivate and inspire a team of administrative personnel to follow the company DQF and Equipment file procedures.
Inspire the administrative staff to communicate their needs properly and respectfully to the operational staff.
Facilitate conflict resolutions when applicable between the compliance / safety administrative staff and the operational staff.
Escalate to the VP of Compliance and Safety unresolved conflicts.
Vehicle Insurance Claims
Work with IC's and company employees in real time regarding accidents and incidents by following the company Accident / Incident policy and procedure.
File claims aligning with the company claims reporting process and procedure.
File claims for all accidents& Incidents regardless of loss amount. RPO when necessary.
Align with the accounting department for proper and timely payments to streamline repairs as to aid revenue generation.
Track all direct payments for reimbursement from our provider or subrogation amounts from other parties including overpayments.
Communicate all loss runs with the VP of Compliance and Safety monthly (scheduled).
Communicate an open claim analysis to the VP of Compliance and Safety as needed.
Provide RMIS reporting to the VP of Compliance and Safety to identify Accident trends monthly (scheduled).
Data Q No-Fault DOT reportable accidents.
Maintain the federal accident registry.
Communicate in real time high priority accidents or Incidents to the VP of Compliance and Safety for advisement including but not limited to : Fatality; Injury; DOT reportable accident; High value loss; Anything involving federal or local law enforcement
Required Skills / Abilities :
The ability to follow strict processes and procedures to limit "company" loss regarding accidents and incidents.
The ability to follow strict processes and procedures regarding accident & incident data collection and claim filing.
The ability to communicate strongly with the VP of Compliance and Safety regarding urgent claim related or loss matters.
The ability to follow strict processes and procedures to ensure Federal& State compliance.
Knowledge of regulations related to driver safety, including FMCSA & State regulations.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of administrative personnel.
The ability to understand, audit and provide oversight for internal systems and programs.
The ability to audit DQF and Equipment files in a timely manner.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and implement solutions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly within a team.
Education and Experience :
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Some college coursework preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in Driver Qualifications recordkeeping and Claims Management.
Prior experience working in the transportation and / or logistics industry a plus.
Prior experience working with a multi-state employer preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer performing required duties of the position.
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance as part of the regular duties of the position.
Must be able to periodically walk upstairs, stand, bend, and stoop while reaching for accounting files.
Demonstrate ability to stay focused in a fast paced, sometimes noisy work environment.
