Description
Responsibilities include :
Specialists will be inspecting chassis and approving work orders in the roadability lanes (before the chassis leave the yard). Mechanics write up work orders for Specialists to approve and confirm no unnecessary work is billed. Will deal with the mechanics directly. There is a stop work once a month on a Thursday and adjusted as needed.
- Read and answer e-mails, respond to all correspondence ASAP, no later than one working day.
- Monitor & control OOS equipment levels to include Repair Estimate Approval and Repair Limit Compliance.
- Regular communications with logistics department with regards to equipment requirements.
- Conduct daily visits to specified local terminals, CYs and depots to ensure that all M&R issues are addressed.
- Ensure DCLI inspection / repair standards are communicated to vendors and adhered to on all equipment.
- Assist locations in continuously investigating ways and means to reduce overall M&R costs while ensuring service levels are not compromised.
- Work with vendors to increase productivity. Discuss / resolve work order input discrepancy with vendors.
- Monitor and control tire inventory levels at all facilities.
- Perform DCLI monthly safety review and conduct shop site audits for all responsible locations
- Monitor and release any DVER / DVIR inspections that location is notified of.
- Review M&R system report / vendor report card / duplicate repair code / work order / STS code frequency reports. Track and order replacement license plates for chassis, report same to Fleet Ops when installed.
- Generate information and fill out third party billing / damage recovery at all locations.
- Coordinate off-hire and scrap chassis programs and control / report renumbering of chassis in all locations.
