JOB SUMMARY :
The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, overseeing accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership, FP&A, actuaries, and external auditors to ensure financial integrity and optimize financial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Financial Reporting and Compliance :
- Prepare and oversee the monthly close, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP and SSAP).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance industry regulations, such as statutory reporting requirements, tax filings, debt covenants and solvency regulations.
- Oversee filings with regulatory bodies, including the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) and other industry-specific entities.
- Manage internal controls and ensure that financial operations meet external and internal audit standards.
