JOB SUMMARY

Orion180 is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to elevate our cutting-edge insurance web application. This crucial role involves leading an agile team to develop robust, innovative features.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All employees are expected to adhere to Orion180’s operational standards, security and safety rules, and attendance requirements. The Software Development Manager is responsible for managing a professional team of software engineers in the development of applications. The Manager has advanced knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) , software design , information and software architecture , back / front-end web development , software quality , web server and cloud architecture , security and networking concepts , and mobile-first design and user experience (UX) .Key responsibilities include :

• Supervise and delegate duties to the development team.
• Hire and train new developers.
• Establish development standards for the team.
• Deliver reports and proposals to upper management.
• Create a budget and timeline for the development project.
• Ensure appropriate tracking and metrics with clear KPIs for the SDLC.
• Supervise team to ensure well-designed, unit-testable, secure, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Manage resources across our technology stack : front end, middle tier API layer, and SQL database on MS Azure.
• Ensure adherence to product requirements and UX / UI guidance in Vue.JS development.
• Commit to project plans , SDLC processes, and company / industry coding standards.
• Communicate professionally with Agile team members and stakeholders.
• Follow through on expectations provided by VMO managers and the team, including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers.
• Ensure resources meet or exceed sprint commitments.
