Job Summary The Staff Accountant will assist in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial reports. Responsibilities include executing daily accounting processes and transactions in support of the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment, demonstrating the ability to multi-task and work independently.
Role and Responsibilities To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform the following essential duties :
- Document financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing financial status reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by analyzing account information.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions.
- Produce error-free accounting reports for review.
- Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Communicate effectively with agencies and insureds regarding refunds or commissions.
- Foster strong client relationships through positive interactions.
- Keep the Manager informed on work status and any issues that arise.

Required Skills
Physical Demands While performing general office duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Other demands include effective communication, light lifting (up to 25 lbs), and the use of standard office equipment. Occasional bending, twisting, or stooping may be required.
Work Environment
The office environment is fast paced and collaborative. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule, and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
