Orlando Heart & Vascular Center was founded in 2007 and has grown to multiple locations, serving the needs of thousands of patients. Orlando Heart & Vascular Center offers a wide variety of cardiac services to patients such as echo and vascular diagnostic services, general clinic visits, Holter and Telemetry monitors, and nuclear and treadmill stress tests to state a few. In addition, Orlando Heart & Vascular Center maintains their own outpatient catheterization lab and is one of the few facilities in the area that offers the services of a PET/CT system.
As we continue to grow, we want to incorporate a multispecialty approach, and we are seeking a talented Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our group to promote continuation of care for outpatient population.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who is fluent in both English and Spanish to join our primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care and work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to promote wellness, prevent illness, and manage chronic conditions. This position requires cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to serving a diverse patient population.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Must have and maintain current State of Florida license in good standing.
- Current National Board Certification
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
- Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- (ACLS); PALS provider card as required by department and facility.
Job Duties
The duties of a Nurse Practitioner mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and follow-up care to patients; proper maintenance of records, under the direction of the Supervisory Physician and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.
Nurse Practitioner will promote and maintain the health of our patients under the supervision of a physician.
- Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Documents patient care services by charting patient and department records.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
