A Quick Summary about the Associate Director, Global Partnerships Sales Role:
The Associate Director, Global Partnerships Sales will play a critical role in new business development for the Orlando Magic, LTD and associated properties. This individual will be tasked with selling innovative and impactful partnerships helping brands connect with consumers through our sports properties and venue, the Kia Center. Reporting to the Director of Global Partnership Sales, this individual will join a successful team recognized across the sports industry as a leader in sports partnerships.
What the Associate Director, Global Partnerships Sales will do:
- Strive to achieve company, department and personal goals and objectives, with personal goals ranging from high six figures into seven figures annually.
- Achieve sales goals through both new business of advertising/ branding, consumer marketing campaigns, digital marketing, community relations initiatives and hospitality opportunities.
- Create compelling sales narratives to engage top level executives and decision makers around the value of partnering with the Orlando Magic.
- Successfully identify prospective companies and progress the company through the complete sales cycle, including negotiating final contract terms.
- Develop integrated partnerships that mutually elevate brand messaging and objectives.
- Develop an understanding of ROI strategies as it related to clients’ unique business.
- Identify new and innovative brand categories for partnership opportunities.
- Develop an understanding of metrics across all partnership elements.
- Develop revenue for the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation’s annual events.
- Collaborate with affiliate properties – Orlando Solar Bears and Osceola Magic – to drive partnership revenue for all properties.
- Effectively communicate client expectations and contractual obligations to appropriate internal departments during the sales process to ensure successful onboarding of new partners.
- Effectively transition account to Global Partnerships Activation team to ensure fulfillment of client deliverables, goals and objectives.
- Responsible for accounts receivables related to new partnership deals.
- Game night responsibilities include maintain partner profile within entitlement areas, hosting prospects, assisting activation team as needed and/or prospecting future clients.
- Provide legendary service in a team selling environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
What the Associate Director, Global Partnerships Sales needs to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required with a minimum of 10 years of sponsorship sales in either the sporting or large-scale entertainment industries required.
- Experience in sponsorship sales at a sports property/league, sports & entertainment agency, or sports media property is required.
- Successful track record in selling seven-figure partnership/sponsorship agreements is required.
- Ability to work in/relocate to the Central Florida market is required.
- Proven track record of reaching sales quotas and working in a fast-paced sales environment required.
- Experience developing marketing plans, promotions, presentations and proposals required.
- Experience in digital content sales is preferred.
- Experience in developing international partnership sales is preferred.
- Ability to work select Magic home games, which includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
