We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Bilingual Assistant Teacher to join our team and help us create an enriching educational experience for our students.
Position Overview:
As a Bilingual Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support the daily activities and educational programs in the classroom. Your primary role will be to assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have prior childcare experience, a deep understanding of Montessori principles, and a passion for working with young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the Montessori curriculum and daily classroom activities.
- Support students in their learning and development, fostering independence and self-confidence.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in both English and Spanish.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the Lead Teacher.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
- Engage in positive and constructive interactions with children, promoting their social and emotional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Previous experience in childcare, preferably in a Montessori or early childhood education setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and Montessori principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine love for working with children.
- DCF 40 hrs, CPR/First Aid
