Orlando Neurosurgery is currently seeking a qualified and certified Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced Neurosurgery practice in our Orlando offices.
Medical Assistant Key Tasks & Responsibilities
· Room patients and obtain vital signs
· Obtain & update patient medical histories
· Learn to access imaging facility portals for diagnostic studies
· Triage and respond to patient phone calls
· Call in new medications or provide medication refills
· Notify physician or mid-level of any STAT or critical results
· Complete forms: FMLA, short term disability, accommodation, work/school forms, etc.
· Ordering of diagnostic tests, physical or occupational therapy as directed by provider
· Stock and organize exam rooms
· Perform other duties as assigned
Open to traveling to other office locations- Travel reimbursement
· Must have dependable transportation and willing to travel to other locations as needed, travel 25%. (Tavares, Winter Garden, Celebration)
Medical Assistant Knowledge & Training
· Thrive in an environment where communication and teamwork is critical
· Must be well organized, great at multi-tasking and detail oriented
· Must maintain a positive, caring attitude toward patients at all times
- Must be highly flexible and able to accommodate changing needs of the practice
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- Must have basic computer skills. (E-Clinical knowledge is a plus)
