Busy Psychiatric Office seeks Medical Assistant/Receptionist with previous medical office experience to handle front desk duties in the Orlando, FL office. At OPA Behavioral Health (Orlando Psychiatric Associates) we strive to provide compassionate, professional, and individualized mental health services to our patients. We are looking for an energetic individual, with excellent customer service skills, a people-person, genuine and hard worker who can join our team and bring forth a friendly personality, show compassionate care, and offer assertive communication skills towards our valuable patients (both in person and via phone).
DAILY TASKS include but are not limited to:
- Professionally and happily greeting patients for appointments, and confirming their information.
- Radiating positive energy, smiling, connecting with the patients from the moment they arrive and until they leave the office.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Gathering required paperwork from the patient.
- Check-in / Check-out procedures.
- Collecting co-payments and coinsurance amounts from patients.
- This is not a sedentary position. From time to time, it requires standing/walking and be actively involved in the front desk area, rooming patients, and making sure the office looks clean and presentable at all times.
- Taking daily vitals (blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height).
- Administering daily UDT's (urine drug tests).
- Answering phone calls, text messages, and emails on a daily basis.
- Faxing, scanning, and data entry.
- Achieving Medical Records requests.
- Assisting with Interpretation (English/Spanish) when applicable.
- Multitasking and Flexibility of various clerical duties.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) is required due to the high number of Spanish speaking patients we serve.
- Certified Medical Assistant is required.
- Experience in working in a medical office setting with a Minimum of 1 yr. experience (with the understanding of HIPAA laws).
- Applicant must be polished and have a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Applicant must have the ability to multi-task and have a working knowledge of insurance terminology and claims processes.
- Meticulous and detailed oriented, paying attention to exact data entry.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, spreadsheets)
- Proficient knowledge and experience with EHR/EMR systems, email, faxing/scanning.
- Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills, uses time wisely, completes all tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner, and takes the time to help fellow team mates.
- Superb problem-solving skills.
- Must pass a background screening.
- Must pass drug test screening.
- Must provide 3 excellent professional references prior to being hired.
