The Director of Corporate Relations provides support for Orlando Science Center by increasing revenue from corporate partners and other funders. Reporting to the Vice President of Development and working closely with Directors across the organization, the Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for creating and stewarding partnerships between Orlando Science Center and various corporations, foundations, community groups, school systems and universities with the overarching goal of generating resources and opportunities to deliver high quality STEM learning experiences.


Essential Functions

  • Develops and executes strategies for enhancing revenue from corporations and corporate foundations for both short- and long-term success in line with budget and organization goals.
  • Develops and documents a robust pipeline of proposals and meets annual fundraising goals; establishes and achieves benchmarks for constructive growth; measures progress against institutional goals.
  • Ensures reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner; utilizes automated systems for tracking and reporting; develops and maintains prospect lists in donor database.
  • Ensures all corporate partners are being stewarded regularly throughout the year with the aim of building ongoing relationships that sustain the mission.
  • Researches prospects and develops plans to engage targeted organizations for short- and long-term partnerships.
  • Develops and maintains a robust donor portfolio.
  • Ensures appropriate follow-up with funders for annual and comprehensive campaigns.
  • Serves as project manager on corporate projects pertaining to OSC programming, working closely with internal teams.
  • Manages the goals, strategy, and activities of the Corporate Development Officer including event sponsorship for Spark STEM Fest.
  • Oversees goals, strategy, and activities for the Corporate Partnership Program, Corporate Sponsorships, Corporate Memberships, and events like Science of Wine and Science on Tap.
  • Serves as project manager for recruiting and implementing appropriate community partners for event specific content for Science of Wine and Science on Tap.
  • In coordination with the Corporate Development Officer, support the Young Professionals for OSC group to meet their annual fundraising goal for event sponsorship.
  • Participates in the implementation of a successful comprehensive campaign for the long-term growth of the Center.
  • Stays current on corporate activity in the community to assess viable opportunities for engagement including engaging with local Chambers of Commerce and Orlando Economic Partnership events.
  • Works with internal OSC departments including Finance, Marketing, Visitor Experience, Education, and others to ensure fulfillment of Development goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Experience & Certifications: Minimum of three to five years of experience in corporate fundraising and/or business development. Three years of management experience, including budgeting and planning.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and involvement in the local community.
  • Previous work experience in a non-profit organization or business development function.
  • Strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Professional corporate experience


Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for the hiring, training, and development of full-time staff members.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  • Moves throughout the museum.
  • Ascends/descends stairs throughout the museum.
  • Observes and reacts to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Communicates and exchanges accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone.
  • Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately.
  • Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 25 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor environments.
  • Frequently works in indoor environments.
  • Coping with demands and stresses associated with job and work environment.
  • Kneeling and Crouching (rarely)
  • Weight Levels – Lift, Push, Pull
  • Up to 25 pounds


Expected Hours of Work & Travel

  • This position is full time and primarily works Monday – Friday.
  • This position may need to work weekends and after hour events as needed.
  • Travel throughout the Central Florida area may be required to attend conferences/trainings/deliver programs.

Telecommuting
This position is required to be onsite 60% of the time.
