Summary/Objective
Responsibilities for this "hands-on" position include assisting the oversite of the facility maintenance operations at the Orlando Science Center and its maintenance personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining building systems, including but not limited to HVAC, life safety, electrical and telecom systems, assuring compliance to OSHA, IBC, ADA and NFPA codes as they apply. This position is responsible for supervising and assigning daily workflow. Approximately 20% of time to be spent in supervisory and administrative functions, 80% of time to be spent on "hands-on" maintenance issues.
Essential Functions

Responsible for on-boarding, scheduling and training of facility maintenance personnel.
- Including creating a comprehensive training plan
- Performs facility inspections to identify immediate and long-term deficiencies of the facility and its systems. Creates and delivers a corrective action plan to the Facilities Management team.
- Assist management to execute and continually develop the Preventative Maintenance plan for all related facility systems.
- Prioritize corrective maintenance issues as they arise in conjunction with managing and prioritizing work orders.
- Must be able to troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and alarm systems. As well as telephone, elevator, automatic door and automatic gate systems.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials and finishes such as carpet, drywall, paint, framing, doors, concrete, EIFS and various roof systems.
- Must be able to read blueprints and understand their symbols as well as contracts and permits.
- This position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the preventative and corrective maintenance of OSC's van fleet is completed.
- Helps oversee contract work that happens before and after operating hours.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
I. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years previous hands-on experience in all related fields outlined in the Essential Functions
3. Certifications: N/A
4. Driving: Employee must have a valid driver's license and must maintain an acceptable driving record as stipulated by OSC's insurance carrier. Must be comfortable driving an OSC vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient working with MS Office and AutoCAD
- Locksmith, key cutting
- Able to drive a forklift
- Previous experience with on-boarding and training
- Supervisory experience
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is directly responsible for the training and development of full-time and part-time employees.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
- This position is full-time and primarily works Tuesday - Sunday.
- This position must be able to work weekends and after hour events as needed.
- Availability for on-call emergencies.

- Travel throughout the Central Florida area will be required to pick up supplies and service fleet.
- Acts as part of a ride out crew during severe weather to ensure that building systems are operational to support animal health and safety.
Telecommuting
This position is required to be onsite I 00% of the time.
