What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Summer Camp Counselor position at Orlando Science Center?
Summary/Objective
The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for assisting with the daily operational aspects of weekly summer camp sessions, including, but not limited to: supervising campers to and from daily activities, assisting Camp Management with daily camp tasks, and assisting in camp classrooms when needed.
Essential Functions
· Responsible for supervising campers to and from daily activities, ensuring that all campers are safe and accounted for at ALL times.
· Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures, including Early Care and/ or Late Care.
· Responsible for actively engaging the campers in activities to ensure an enjoyable experience.
· Responsible for learning and leading Camp activities and songs.
· Responsible for implementing safety rules and compliance to the OSC Camper Behavior Policy.
· Able to apply appropriate policies/procedures, enforce safety regulations, and respond quickly to critical incidents and emergencies.
· Demonstrates commitment to OSC's vision, mission, and values.
· Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings as necessary.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education: Candidates should hold a High School Degree or higher.
· Experience & Certifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience and enthusiasm working with children and youth. Candidates will have to pass a background check and be able to sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character as per the American Camp Association (ACA).

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
· This position is seasonal (May 27th – August 9th) and primarily works Monday – Friday. Summer Camp staff will also be expected to attend mandatory camp training from May 20th – 23rd (evening training).
· Travel throughout the Central Florida area may be required to attend conferences/trainings/deliver programs.
Telecommuting
This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
