About the Role:

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 7th Grade Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for middle school students.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards for Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, during lunch, recess, and other activities to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Sponsor and support student clubs and extracurricular activities to enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional program and support student success.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid State of Florida teaching certification in Mathematics for middle school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra at the middle school level.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra concepts.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources to enhance instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging students in mathematics and fostering a love for learning.
