TITLE: Biology Teacher (9-12)

Orlando Science Middle/High is a high-performing, A public charter school, serving students in 6-12 in Orange County, Orlando, Florida. Our mission is to provide students with a well-rounded education with special emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Reading in the light of research-based, proven and innovative instructional methods in a stimulating environment.

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly qualified Biology Teacher to join our dynamic team for the upcoming academic year. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a rigorous and engaging curriculum that prepares students for the Biology End-of-Course (EOC) exam and fosters a lifelong love of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver innovative lesson plans aligned with the biology curriculum and state standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on labs, technology integration, and differentiated instruction to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively assess student learning through various methods, providing constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, guidance counselors, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in biology education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
  • Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Biology (grades 6-12)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Biology or a similar rigorous science course.
  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts and methods.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Commitment to student success and fostering a love of science.
