Orleans Central Supervisory Union is seeking a Special Educator for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidates should have experience developing appropriate student programs and coordinating services with teachers and related service providers. Responsibilities include providing case management, developing IEPs, consulting with teachers, and providing direct services to students.
Candidates must have strong collaboration and communication skills, experience supervising paraprofessionals, and a strong focus on the team process. Applicants must be reliable, flexible, patient, energetic, willing to learn new skills, and passionate about working with and supporting students.
Candidates should be familiar with EdDoc VT, benchmarking and progress monitoring, and data-based decision-making. Candidates must have the ability to differentiate instruction to individual learners and develop and follow IEP goals, supports, modifications, and accommodations.
Qualified applicants should have experience at the elementary and middle school level, understand special education rules and regulations, have an understanding of standards-based instruction, and a belief that each student can meet high expectations. Qualified candidates must hold a current Vermont teaching license with the pertinent endorsement.
The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K-8 elementary schools, the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program, and Lake Region Union High School.
