What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position at Orleans Central Supervisory Union?
Orleans Central Supervisory Union is currently seeking a full-time, school-year, speech language pathology assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or the equivalent college courses or complete required portfolio process.
REPORTS TO: Speech Language Pathologist & Director of Special Services
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 177 days
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide speech and language services to students in an instructional setting
*Implement service plans from the SLP
*Maintain confidentiality
*Effectively manage behaviors within a classroom and in a one-on-one situation
*Record keeping as required
*Follow verbal and written instructions from their supervisor
*Be able to implement IEPs, EST plans, 504 plans, and/or Behavior plans
*Demonstrate appropriate decision-making skills
*Demonstrate a basic knowledge of speech, language, and hearing disorders
*Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills,
*The ability to travel to multiple work locations as assigned
*Field work and/or on the job training specific to speech-language pathology assistant job responsibilities and workplace behaviors.
The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K-8 elementary schools, the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program, and Lake Region Union High School.
