Staff Resiliency/Mental Health Coordinator
OPDA seeks to retain a Staff Resiliency/Mental Health Coordinator to aid mental wellness and resiliency of OPDA staff via 12-month professional services contract.
Qualifications:
- LCSW, LPC, or equivalent licensure in good standing
- At least 5 years of experience working with victims of primary and secondary trauma preferred
- Knowledge of criminal justice system processes, including familiarity with investigation and prosecution of criminal cases
- Comfortable speaking to groups in both lecture and interactive settings
- Must maintain adequate professional liability insurance
Responsibilities:

Coordinates resiliency training program (at least 7 training topics over 12-month period of at least 30 minutes per topic), to cover topics such as:
- How primary trauma affects a victim
- How secondary trauma from work with traumatized people impact us
- Building concrete resiliency skills-identifying stress signs, calming techniques, etc.
- Financial wellness
- Suicide prevention and depression

Case-specific debriefings (debriefings as requested for up to 12 cases/year
- After particularly difficult trials, conducts debriefings with prosecutors and other key staff, and offer same to jurors as well

Periodic check-ins
- Conducts twice-annual check-ins with individuals in units with high exposure to trauma, and check-ins with others upon referral/request
- Maintain on-site "office hours" (at least 18 hours/week) for confidential sessions with employees, and maintains strong referral network of mental health and substance abuse professionals for long-term needs when appropriate
- Help direct employees to appropriate resources (internally and externally) as needed
- Work with HR Director to pursue partnerships to reduce copay barrier for long-term therapy through our office's EAP
