Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies using ICD-10 coding and other relevant systems.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is captured for accurate billing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
- Assist in resolving any issues related to denied claims or payment discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using medical office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
