Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for the development of in-vitro transcription (IVT) conditions and purification processes for RNA-based therapeutics to support various programs.
- Optimize reactions, starting materials, and process conditions.
- Contribute to downstream process development for purification of mRNA/circRNA.
- Develop mRNA/circRNA analytics for purity determination and impurity profiling.
- Complete detailed and timely experiment documentation with Benchling.
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Cross-train team members in mRNA/circRNA synthesis and purification.
- PhD in Biochemistry or Chemistry, with 0-2 years of relevant experience in RNA-related fields, or an MS with experience (6 years) of in vitro transcription and purification of mRNA/circRNA using chromatography and filtration techniques.
- Strong knowledge of nucleic acid or oligonucleotide chemistry and standard analytical techniques.
- Proficiency in analytical methods such as CE, HPLC, and LC-MS.
- Hands-on experience with AKTA purification systems and solid knowledge of Unicorn software.
- A strong publication or patent record is a plus.
- Experience in RNA design and engineering is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ribozyme, particularly in catalytic efficiency and turnover, is a plus.
- Experience with automation and/or programming is a plus.
- The applicant must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- The applicant must be detail-oriented and is able to thrive in a fast-paced startup culture.
