Machine Operator III - Rope Cell Setup

We are looking for a Rope Cell Setup Operator to join our Archdale location!

Shift: 1st, 6am - 4:30pm M-Th

Pay: $17/hr.

This role has the following responsibilities:

• Set up all machines in rope cell. (including but not limited to rope machines, saws, FJ machines, sanders).
• Accurately read and interpret all shop orders and drawings.
• Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy levels and cycle counts product as needed.
• Maintain quality and productivity.
• Adequate skills utilizing provided tools such as calipers, tape measure, etc.
• Must know and understand decimal readings.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines according to OSHA standard and company policies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Effectively performs all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Effectively uses required PPE and company approved tools with awareness of surroundings and potential safety hazards while maintaining a safe work area.
• Demonstrates the ability to safely manage awkward product lengths and weights.
• Demonstrates basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
• Demonstrates ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience driving industrial powered equipment.
• High School Diploma and GED

Physical Requirements:

• Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
• 100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
• 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
• 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
• 10%: Working bent at waist, climbing, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bending or twisting.
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.

Ornamental is looking for motivated, active and experienced Rope Cell Setup operator. The Rope Cell Setup operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of all equipment in the rope moulding cell. Also responsible for safety, reading and correctly interpreting shop orders/drawings, inspection, quality, production, trouble-shooting, and minor PMs.
