Shipping Clerk Job Description
Ornua Ingredients North America custom formulates and manufactures a complete line of pasteurized process cheese products. We are looking for a detail oriented, organized, and reliable employee to join our Warehouse Office Team! The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to ensuring smooth shipping operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare and verify bill of ladings (BOL) for shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of shipping information.
Coordinate and schedule shipments with shippers, ensuring timely pick-up and delivery according to established timelines.
Maintain and update a detailed shipping log to track all outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
Collaborate with internal departments, including production, sales, and inventory, to ensure that orders are complete and ready for shipment on time.
Schedule trucks to transport shipments to the TDC (Transportation Distribution Center) daily.
Work closely with the logistics manager to identify and select carriers for each shipment.
Ensure that all outbound loads have pre-scheduled delivery appointments, coordinating directly with carriers and delivery sites.
Arrange and schedule Hilbert pick-ups as needed, coordinating with the relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with all shipping and transportation regulations and company policies, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Continuously review and improve shipping processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs where possible.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be in good work standing with excellent attendance to be considered for this role.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer orders, inventory reports, operating procedures to ensure documents are audited and accurate. Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
Excellent computer skills with advanced experience in Microsoft Office and specialized inventory control software programs preferred.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, represent company in an upbeat and professional manner, and to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Must be self-motivated, dependable, and a team player.
