Purpose of the Position:
Provide logistical support for the movement, storage, control and protection of raw materials, supplies, work in process products and finished products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Forklift to move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or use of a pallet jack or Forklift
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks to support the supply chain.
- Discards expired materials (raw, in-process, or finished goods) while adhering to safety practices
- Helps maintain the area is clean and organized as well as that inventory is in the right storage locations
- Safely operate Forklift to accurately prepare orders for shipment per customer specifications as assigned by shipping coordinator or management when needed
- Covers order pickers, repackers or dock workers
- Perform visual inspection audit of parts to verify part matches part number as well as basic quality standards
- Double check all labeling and part numbers
- Rotate stock to insure first-in-first-out (FIFO)
- Complete all necessary paperwork and follow process with company ERP system by accurately using hand scanners
- Read and comprehend instructions and following established procedures
- Keep workstation clean and organized
- Cross train in other departments during down time
- Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
- Basic math skills
- Detailed oriented, organized, and motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet company and department goals
- Ability to count and use scales
- Ability to understand spoken and written English
- Previous Forklift experience
- Ability to work overtime and needed
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Time Management skills and ability to work independently
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for 8 plus hours daily
- Ability to use both hand, wrists, and arms with continual motion
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, and reach objects
- Ability to lift 30 plus pounds repeatedly
- Ability to bend, stoop and walk frequently
Working Conditions
Temperature controlled facility
Personal Protective Equipment Required
Safety glasses at all times, safety gloves, non-slip work shoes, ear plus as necessary
