Responsibilities : Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Tech is able to perform at a proficient level of all radiology procedures related to the Interventional Radiology lab in both acute and stable patients. Able to scrub, assist, and perform all other tasks as needed to perform all cases in the IR lab to include kyphoplasty , pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and intervention within the scope of practice.
Duties
Perform various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with Oroville Hospital policies and procedures and state and federal regulationsReviews patient specific procedure orders to determine materials / supplies that will be neededSets up / stocks the procedure room / procedure trays with needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedureCleans room post procedure, including cleaning any equipment and machineryConducts all necessary preparations of the patient procedure room and documents when appropriateExplains basic procedure to the patient, answers questions and addresses patient concernsAssists with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and preppingPerforms patient transfers and positioning of patients and transports patient to and from procedure roomInputs patient data into the C-ArmActs as scrub assistant assisting the physician during the interventional procedures under fluoroscopy, maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal lawProcesses x-ray images and archives to a CD or DVD to comply with Oroville Hospital policies and procedures for patient medical records and state regulationsAssists with implementing Oroville Hospital quality goals and facility specific action plans in order to achieve Oroville Hospital quality standardsEnsures medical records are accurate, complete and in compliance with Oroville Hospital policies and procedures. Maintains the integrity of medical records and documents in real timeEnsures patient billing is accurate and timely by reviewing all procedures, documenting patient equipment charges and verifying CPT and ICD 10 codes are correctAssists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis. Ensures all equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before and after proceduresMakes recommendations regarding replacement of equipment and repairsAssists with disposal of hazardous waste materials, dirty linen and rugsPrepares, organizes, and efficiently utilizes supplies and equipment to prevent wastageEnsures effective communication with Physicians and StaffWorks with Physicians and staff to ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are on handAddresses Physician concerns in areas of responsibilityMay assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to radiography to ensure continuous process improvementAssists in training and orienting new employees on the equipmentAssists with inventory ordering of supplies and re-stocking suppliesComplies with HIPAA policies and standards in regards to patient confidentialityPerforms other duties as assignedOther Info :
