Job Description
- High School Diploma of Graduation or equivalent
- Current BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cros for healthcare providers
Start Date:
Open Until Filled. This is a part time position, and the hours for this position range from 56-63 hours per two week pay period.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Medical Terminology course preferred
- Current BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cros for healthcare providers
- no previous experience required
- Ability to demonstrate use of various equipment including, but not limited to computer, photocopy machine and present telephone system
- Ability to relate well with physicians, patients of all ages, and co-workers
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Maintain a calm and reasonable attitude at all times
- Keeps all information regarding patients confidential

Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Patient Transporter is responsible for assisting on a daily basis with maintaining the appropriate level of department flow by greeting patients upon admission and transporting patients to appropriate destinations.
Duties
- Transports patients to various hospital departments before and after procedures as needed
- Obtains old charts and history and physicals from Medical Records Department
- Answer incoming phone lines and transfer when needed
- Participate in unit meetings and educational activities in order to develop skills and grow in awareness
- Maintain cleanliness of patient areas
- Transports patient via wheelchair to private transportation vehicle after discharge
- Typing and collecting all items requested
- Delivery of medical records to proper locations
- Filing pertinent items.
- Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Other Info:
Lifting Requirements: Heavy lifting: up to 100 Ibs. maximum with frequent and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 Ibs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
