What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff/Caregiver position at Orpas Corporation?
Orpas Corporation is an organization that has group homes located in Orange County (Mission Viejo). We provide long term care for clients in a home like environment (6 clients per home). Our staff provide direct care for clients with intellectual and physical disabilities for all their daily living needs. Our homes are licensed by the Department of Public Health/Licensing & Certification.
We are currently looking to fill Care Giver (Direct Care Staff) Positions for Full & Part-Time and Hiring Immediately. This would include weekends. If hired, you will be required to attend orientation. You will also be required to pass a criminal background check, physical, TB test, have a valid ID and Original SSN Card and must have COVID-19 vaccination.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provides clients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, and with dressing and grooming/showering and diaper changing. We use Hoyer Lifts for transferring for clients that need it.
2. Ensures clients are clean, dry, and all essential adaptive equipment is properly in place such as arm splints, seat belts, and abdominal binders.
3. Follows the training program as outlined in the client's ISP -- Individual Service Plan.
4. Respects and promotes the individual rights of clients including maintaining the dignity of each person during daily care procedures.
5. Provides direct client care and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staff.
6. Preparing Nutritional Meals for clients
7. Washing Clients clothes/ bedding
8. Managing behaviors
9. Showering clients
10. Monitoring clients during all waking hours
11. Maintain a clean facility (sweeping/mopping).
12. Be willing to improve skills through training and education.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. No Experience? No Problem. If you don’t have experience BUT have cared for a family member who has been sick or just up there in age, then you’re qualified and we can train you.
Bilingual OK
Ability to follow directions, both written and oral to perform duties. Interest and concern for people with developmental disabilities and possess sufficient patience and understanding to deal with their special needs. Must attend scheduled In-Service training and various other training's as required. Ability to work cooperatively with staff in all departments.
COVID-19 considerations:
All staff must wear face masks while inside facility. Staff must be screened upon entry of facility. All staff must be vaccinated and must submit vaccination card for proof. We provide PPE (Protective Personal Equipment), Hand Sanitizers, Gloves and Gowns.
