We’re looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Intern to join our marketing team. This is a part-time, contract role (estimated 10-15 hours per week) starting immediately and continuing throughout the year.
As a Social Media Intern, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing social media campaigns across various platforms, creating engaging content, and analyzing data to optimize performance. Your role will involve working closely with our marketing team to develop strategies that increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts. You’ll also be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices to ensure our brand messaging is consistent and effective. Social Media Intern Responsibilities:
- Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms.
- Travel to project sites in DC metro area to take photos & videos for social media.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, audience engagement, and feedback.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align social media campaigns with overall strategies.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated on the latest platform updates, tools, and best practices.
- Assist in brainstorming and executing creative campaigns to increase brand awareness.
- Ensure brand consistency in tone, voice, and style across all social media content.
- Conduct analysis and identify opportunities for audience growth.
- Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network.
- Analyze social media performance metrics and prepare reports on campaign effectiveness.
Social Media Intern Qualifications:
- BA in Marketing or similar relevant field (completed or in process).
- Must be in the Washington metro area year round and willing to travel throughout the area to collect content.
- Experience in digital marketing/social media marketing
- Strong understanding of social media for B2B brand awareness and impressions.
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other social media best practices.
- Proficiency in social media management tools, such as Hootsuite.
- Excellent content creation and copywriting skills, to include graphic design and video editing skills.
- Basic photography and videography skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to adapt to changing trends and audience preferences.
- Flexible schedule, but must have some availability during standard business hours.
