The Company:
Orsman Design (ODI) is an award-winning design firm for interior and landscape lighting. With offices in Southampton, New York and Miami, ODI serves clients throughout the United States and internationally.
The Role:
Join the field team which is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of landscape lighting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Build, install, and maintain landscape lighting.
- Dig trenches or holes for installation of low voltage wire, fixtures, conduit and supporting infrastructure.
- Ensure landscape lighting fixtures are installed per Company installation requirements.
- Review and adjust landscape lighting installations after dark to ensure proper aiming of fixtures.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse, vans, and job sites.
- Complete daily worksheet with inventory of equipment and materials used.
- Travel to job sites out of town and state.
- Organize inventory in Company vehicle and ensuring proper quantities of stock fixtures are maintained or requested as needed.
- Collect expense receipts and submit to Accounting Team.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Other Special Requirements:
- Lift and move at least 50 lb boxes of equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to work on ladders and at heights as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Drive and operate a Company vehicle; must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; subject to annual review of license with Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Must be fluid in spoken English.
Desired Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Previous experience exhibiting skills listed below is required; Company provides comprehensive training for role.
- Previous experience in Electrical, Construction, or Landscaping is a definite plus.
Planning and Organizing Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Must be able to review installation plans, spot issues and maintain accurate records. Will need to develop a meticulous eye to make proper adjustments to lights to achieve desired design.
- Task Tracking: Accurately track completed tasks, maintain organized paperwork, and facilitate efficient reporting.
Judgment and Problem-Solving:
- Critical Thinking: Analyze maintenance issues, identify root causes, and propose effective and efficient solutions.
- Risk Evaluation: Assess risks associated with repairs, maintenance, and installations. Sound judgment is essential for safe and efficient operations, including for yourself and those around you.
Technical Skills:
- Hand and Power Tools: Comfortably handling various tools required for maintenance tasks.
- Ladder Work: Occasionally work on ladders as needed.
Teamwork and Coordination:
- Collaboration: Thrive in a small team environment. Coordinate workload effectively with colleagues to meet project deadlines.
- Assistance: Be willing to assist team members when necessary to ensure successful task completion and safety.
Communication Skills:
- Clear Communication: Relay issues or questions promptly to the Field Team Lead. Effective communication ensures smooth operations and timely problem-solving.
- Task Reporting: Clearly communicate completed tasks at the end of each workday and provide paperwork as needed.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
