Our Treatment Center is an adult outpatient opioid treatment program focused on helping individuals overcome addiction to opioids—such as pain pills, heroin, fentanyl and morphine—through a comprehensive approach. This includes Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with options like methadone or buprenorphine/suboxone, alongside intensive personalized and group counseling, all within an outpatient framework.
The Insurance Coordinator position is responsible for the smooth operation and communication of inter-departmental services. He/she will report to the Program Director/Coordinator/Administrator on all matters pertaining to his/her duties. The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating between Hudson Medical Billing services and the Program Directors/Coordinators/Administrators at all ORTC, LLC locations. The Insurance Coordinator will report overdue balances and insurance eligibility to all parties who have an interest in insuring accounts remain in good standing. The
Insurance Coordinator will assist and encourage clients to enroll in available insurance and effectively communicate financial obligations. The Insurance Coordinator will provide timely, accurate
information regarding claims, billing, eligibility, and reimbursements to the appropriate parties.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Verify insurance types (OHP, commercial, etc.). Make copies of all insurance cards or
print eligibility from MMIS.
• Upload insurance information to client records at time of admission, upon
discovery of changes and annually thereafter.
• Coordinate CCO changes to County of service when applicable.
• Provide intake screening form to Hudson Medical to assist with establishing
Prior Authorization (PA) prior to admission.
o CASH Clients
• Encourage client to enroll with OHP, give application and/or online application
website when applicable.
• Assist other ORTC treatment centers with coordination of OHP application or
eligibility.
• Run daily cash reports.
o Confirm commercial insurance and determine eligibility and benefits. E-mail Hudson
Medical with Client Name, Date of Birth, and copy of insurance card to establish
financial plan.
o Fax and/or scan all insurance checks and EOBs to Hudson Medical.
o Review financial obligations with client, which may include Deductibles, Out-of-Pocket
Charges, and Co-Pay information prior to scheduling admission.
o Post charges/billing in Method One as needed.
o Review commercial insurance deductibles and update client accounts in Method One.
o Complete monthly audits on OHP clients to ensure ongoing eligibility.
o Conduct monthly audits to ensure that overdue balances and eligibility status are
coordinated and communicated to all parties involved to ensure accounts remain in good
standing.
o Communicate amounts owed to Front Desk Staff and Program
Directors/Coordinators/Administrators for each facility.
o Enter billing episodes in EMR.
o Conduct Billing Compliance audit by confirming billing episodes using Method One reports.
o Rotate Saturdays with Front Officed Staff.
