Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our growing team in West Knoxville!
The Human Resources Specialist supports the organization by executing day-to-day HR functions that enhance the employee experience and align with organizational goals. This role is responsible for providing expertise in key HR areas, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and training. The HR Specialist serves as a critical link between management and employees, ensuring a positive and productive workplace. Experienced HR Specialists will be given additional duties and oversight that maximize their skills and contributions.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including posting job ads, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes to ensure new employees are fully integrated into the organization.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Support the Director of Team Development in fostering a positive work environment and addressing employee relations issues.
- Gather feedback and recommend improvements to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Assist in the administration of the performance evaluation process.
- Provide guidance to managers on addressing performance gaps and coaching opportunities.
- Participate in the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and recognition programs.
- Coordinate training programs and maintain records of employee participation.
- Support managers in identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
- Assist in implementing OSHA compliance programs and workplace safety initiatives.
- Represent the organization at career fairs and community events to promote employer branding.
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments and inquiries.
- Draft and distribute HR-related communications, such as memos, policy updates, and announcements.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports, such as EEO-1, OSHA, or other regulatory filings.
- Manage HR Invoicing, coordinate with the business office on expenditures, and coordinate employee discounts with vendors.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 year of demonstrated success in similar role or Bachelors degree in related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of HR roles or medical office administration experience.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and workplace compliance.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
