As a Senior Patient Services Representative with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
- Provide coverage at other clinics within the region for callouts and other planned paid time off
- Act as the primary trainer for all new hires, mentor and train all patient service representatives on any process improvement measures, and updated company policy and procedures
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, responding to routine requests for information.
- Register patients to include, obtaining prior authorization, eligibility and benefits, scanning patient ID and insurance card, taking patients pictures in EMR, confirming patient demographics and paperwork for accuracy and completion.
- Relay benefit information to patients.
- Collect patient account balances, co-insurance, and copays, deductibles or estimates self-pay rates; prepares daily batch, deposits, etc.
- Interact with patients, family members, visitors, and members of the health care team; direct patient questions and/or complaints to appropriate department; keep patients informed; maintain efficient patient flow during the check-in and check-out process; checks in outside vendors.
- Schedule patients for follow-up office visits or procedures, log no-show appointments; ensure proper authorization and / or valid referral documentation is included; assist in scanning.
- Maintain and organize lobby area at the end of the day; locks up the clinic.
- Answer phone in prompt, courteous and helpful manner, screening, and routing calls as needed, create phone note in the patient electronic medical record, and/or providing information to patients.
- Maintain medical records.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of computer programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
- Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One-year medical office experience.
