We are looking for ASC Clinical Educator and Quality Nurse Specialist in our Matthews Surgery Center location.
The ASC Clinical Educator and Quality Nurse Specialist will work closely with staff and MCSC leadership to develop and implement programs, processes and departmental policies to achieve greater productivity, consistency and outcomes. This position will also coordinate quality improvement, infection prevention related projects and initiatives across the facility.
Essential Functions:
- The ASC Clinical Educator and Quality Nurse Specialist will provide leadership in daily clinical operations of the ASC in accordance with State rules and regulations and AAAHC standards for ambulatory surgical facilities as well as enforce compliance with ASC policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the providers, ASC Administrator, ASC Clinical Manager, Staff, and Medical Staff Leadership. This position is responsible for identifying, implementing, monitoring and reporting on Quality Improvement activities within the ASC.
- This position will be responsible for orientation of new employees, leading and educating all clinical staff in continuing education and ensure all industry standards are practiced for patient safety and departmental expectations. Using excellent communication skills, this position will adapt to various teaching styles for different audiences.
- The ASC Clinical Educator and Quality Nurse Specialist must have the ability to provide direct patient care in peri-operative areas (OR/ Preop/PACU) in addition to Education/Infection Prevention/Quality responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, College or University.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required, MSN or MBA preferred.
- At least one year of experience in one or more of the following:
- Nurse Educator experience.
- Experience in quality management with a demonstrated record of coordinating multiple quality improvement/assurance related projects.
- Proficient Data Analysis for ASC quality benchmarking metrics, with presentation skills and the ability to analyze and explain ASC quality outcomes.
- Infection control related experience in a healthcare or hospital environment
- At least two years’ experience in either perianesthesia (Preop/PACU) or perioperative (OR) nursing
- Current License/registration by NC as a registered Nurse.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
