OrthoCarolina is currently searching for a Chief Administrative Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team in Charlotte. This position is a hybrid role with the expectation of being on site at least three (3) days per week. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) plans, directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operation of OrthoCarolina. The CAO is a member of the senior management team and works collaboratively to advance the mission of OrthoCarolina, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has direct management responsibility for Marketing, Human Resources, PMO, Health Information Department, Corp Communications and Business Development. The CAO has the overall responsibility for the efficient and effective operations of OrthoCarolina. This includes: Provides direction to all OrthoCarolina employees/managers about prioritization and agenda of CEO – especially in the physical absence of the CEO. Ensures effective executive level meetings through a proactive planning process and meeting management. Resource Planning – works with the team to proactively anticipate staffing and other resource needs and provide ROI to C-suite for approval. Creates/refines processes, governance, and policies for all OrthoCarolina administrative functions. Work allocation – ensures that the work is being allocated to the appropriate people and that all essential personnel are being included in the discussions. Ensures effective and transparent internal communication to OrthoCarolina employees. Project management – creates high level project plans and ensures the work assigned by CEO gets done in a timely manner by creating clear expectations for next steps and holding the team accountable for delivery. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business or other related field required. Masters’ degree in Healthcare, Business or other related field strongly preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years executive level experience including five years of experience in the administration of a major clinic or large healthcare organization required. Orthopedic experience preferred. Skills: Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, practices, and office procedures. Understanding of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy regulations. Knowledge of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) standards and guidelines. Knowledge of priorities, goals, and objectives of the clinic. Self-starter and monitors own progress. Ability to plan, organize and review the work of subordinates performing a variety of functions. Capable of working under pressure and deadlines. Ability to work as a self-starter and monitor own progress. Competent to act as a public relations agent for clinic. Capability to manage difficult or emotional situations with people and respond promptly and calmly to work needs. Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work needs.
