We are currently searching for a Scheduling and Administrative Coordinator to work with one of our physicians at our OrthoCarolina Fort Mill, SC office location. This position will be on-site, occasional remote work may be possible.
The Scheduling & Administrative Coordinator (SAC) provides a variety of administrative and general medical secretarial support for physicians of a sub-specialty and other members of the clinic. This role serves as the liaison between the physician and administration, all departments within the organization, patients, attorneys and the public in general.
Essential Functions:
- Arranging surgeries and diagnostic tests at area hospitals and diagnostic facilities based on physician/patient preferences and insurance plan requirements.
- Scheduling patient education and medical clearance appointments as needed.
- Other assigned duties as required by patient flow or physician request.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Skill in telephone procedure.
- Knowledge of interrelationship of Clinical Services department.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma.
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year of related experience and training.
- An equivalent combination of training and education will be considered.
- Two years of medical transcription experience and knowledge of current medical terminology.
- Three to five years executive level assistance experience preferred.
- One to two years’ experience in a medical office or hospital environment.
