Orthodontic Assistant
Orthodontic Associates has an opening to join our exceptional Team! This position will be travelling between 2 office locations, Shelby and Gastonia.

Employment: 3 days weekly from 7:40 am - 5 pm

- Strong communication skills: An orthodontic assistant must have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, prospects, and other team members. They should be able to communicate clearly and confidently, listen actively, and provide clear instructions to patients and prospects.
- Customer service skills: An orthodontic assistant should be able to provide excellent customer service. They should be friendly, empathetic, and patient while addressing patients' needs, queries, and concerns.
- Time management skills: An orthodontic assistant must be able to manage their time effectively to ensure that they meet the goal of seeing every patient within 5 minutes of being checked in and completing their appointment in the slotted time. They should also be able to prioritize tasks and manage their schedule efficiently.
- Organizational skills: An orthodontic assistant must be organized to maintain accurate patient records, appointment schedules, and follow-up calls. They should also be able to manage their work area effectively, keeping it clean and organized.
- Computer skills: An orthodontic assistant must be proficient in using a computer, internet, and scheduling software. They should be able to navigate various websites, databases, and scheduling systems quickly.
- Sales skills: An orthodontic assistant should be able to identify potential sales opportunities with patients and close them effectively. They should be able to upsell and cross-sell services offered by the orthodontic practice.
- Attention to detail: An orthodontic assistant must be detail-oriented to ensure that they schedule appointments accurately, complete procedures correctly, document the correct patient notes, and complete sterilization and records accurately.
- Multitasking skills: An orthodontic assistant must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including treating patients, answering phone calls, completing sterilization, and updating patient records.
- Flexibility: An orthodontic assistant must be able to adapt to changes in schedules, patient cancellations, and rescheduling requests.
- Positive attitude: An orthodontic assistant must maintain a positive attitude and remain calm and professional, even during high-pressure situations. They should also be able to work well in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.

Experience:
- Orthodontic experience preferred but not required
- Must be a Dental Assistant (DA I or DA II)
Required license or certification:
- Current X-Ray/Radiology Certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
