Job Description:
The Sterilization Technician ensures that medical and laboratory equipment is properly and safely sterilized. In this role, you will be responsible for sterilizing all equipment and supplies used in the facility, monitoring sterilizers and other equipment to ensure proper functioning, and adhering to all safety protocols. You will also be responsible for properly storing sterilized equipment and supplies in an organized fashion.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Prepare instruments, supplies and equipment for sterilization.
- Operate and monitor equipment to ensure proper sterilization.
- Monitor sterilization cycles to ensure safety and effectiveness of sterilizers.
- Maintain and document sterilizer performance, alarms, and other sterilization related activities.
- Inspect and test sterilized instruments to ensure that all instruments meet requirements for sterility.
- Perform maintenance and repair of sterilizers
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble instruments and equipment according to established protocols
- Prepare supplies for sterilization and maintain sterilization supply inventory
- Monitor expiration dates on supplies
- Record sterilization data and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Provide quality assurance and maintain a safe working environment.
- Assisting with taking x-rays, photos and scans.
- Setting up and turning over chairs for the assistants.
- Participate in marketing events
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Working Hours/ Location:
- Monday – Wednesday 8:45am – 5:00pm
- Thursday 7:45am - 4:00pm
- Friday 6:45am – 3:00pm
- 2 Saturdays per month
- 5051 S. State Street , Rockford, IL 61108
- Travel availability to Beloit and Dekalb
- Pay - 16$
- Full time
