The Market Development Manager - Customer Experience Liaison is a hybrid role combining the responsibilities of a Market Development Manager and a Customer Experience Liaison, designed for a seasoned Sales and Marketing professional. This position promotes the Spinal Implants product portfolio within an assigned region and serves as the primary host and cultural ambassador for the Lone Star program, guiding healthcare providers and distributor partners through tailored visits that highlight Orthofix's history, capabilities, and vision.
In partnership with Marketing and Sales leadership, this role develops and executes market growth strategies aligned with strategic initiatives. As a subject matter expert, the Market Development Manager - Customer Experience Liaison provides technical and clinical support to surgeon customers, training and development to the distributor sales force, and leadership in surgeon engagement, product launches, and account development. The position collaborates closely with Medical Education, Product Marketing, Product Development, and Sales teams to drive surgeon adoption, sales growth, and the advancement of Orthofix's brand within the surgical spine community.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
Represents the Orthofix mission and culture to continue to develop and deepen ethical, long-term Surgeon customer and Distributor relationships
Works with the Medical Education Event Team and Marketing Ops to approve requests from the field for surgeon visits to the Lewisville office
Collaborates often with the Events Team, Lab Team, Marketing Ops, Marketing, and other key stakeholders to create an agenda and experience for our surgeon or distributor guests
Hosts the Lone Star event as the personification of Orthofix Spine - guides the HCP or distributor partner for the duration of the visit as the voice/face of the company
Tracks the effectiveness of the Lone Star program and report results to management every quarter
Utilizes field visits and case coverage to educate our distributor customers on Orthofix technology and portfolio of Spine Implants
Trains and develops Distributors' sales skills/engagement, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, and competitive knowledge to meet revenue goals, as well as manages weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Supports marketing requests and initiatives including new product targeting and forecasting, competitive product information, and market trends and opportunities
Successfully merges both marketing and sales initiatives into a cohesive program by developing and executing on a market development plan to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets
Drives and directly supports strategic surgeon education initiatives to maximize surgeon adoption, as well support strategic sales training initiatives to develop procedural, product, and selling competencies of our distributor sales force
Provides strategic point of sale support through in-depth understanding of the medical device industry, field sales models, and sales processes
Provides expert-level clinical support through excellence in the OR and mastery of spinal anatomy, pathologies, and procedures
Drives and directly supports product launches and marketing initiatives
Supports the product marketing team with market input, competitive analysis, product evaluation participation, surgery support, and feedback
Participates in the identification and evaluation of new technologies and strategic opportunities and provides input during the product development process to help refine market requirements
What skills and experience will you need?

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:
7 years' experience in sales or marketing within a medical device company
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interface at all levels
Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written correspondence with all levels of peers and leadership at Orthofix, distributorships, hospitals, and other vendors worldwide
Proficiency with MS Office and customer/inventory databases
Demonstrated ability to work creatively, prioritize, and manage team goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities
Critical thinker with strong attention to detail, and ability to solve problems and establish solutions in a high-growth and fast-paced environment
Ability to travel as needed, up to 70%
