Department/Position Details/Duties:
- Analyzing and position the patient to image the required anatomy optimal results.
- Entering the proper technical parameters into the x-ray and C-arm generating systems to provide the optimum image.
- Interacting with the patient to address their concerns and obtain verbal permission to perform their examination.
- Providing a high level of verbal communication to calm and reassure the emotional needs of the patient for the benefit of the patient and the hospital with respect to patient care.
- Assessing patients in order to determine their abilities to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems.
- Responsible for the accurate and safe operation of radiation emitting equipment by following established radiation safety procedures under order to protect the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Maintaining the various supplies in the rooms by using good organizational skills to provide efficient and effective departmental operations.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Graduate of an A.M.A. approved radiologic technology school.
- ARRT registered.
- Nebraska license (or license eligible) for Medical Radiographer.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years Radiography experience in a clinic and/or hospital setting preferred, but not required.
- Managing and interacting with patients and families of all age groups.
- Working in a fast-paced environment.
Physical:
- This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
