General Description
The Charge Nurse assists the Nurse Manager in the daily clinical operations of the PACU/Pre-Op in accordance with established Federal, State, accreditation standards and Surgery Center policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily activity of the Pre-Op/PACU area, communicate any issues to the Nurse Manager.
- Coordinate efficient and fair staffing daily, based on schedule and procedural needs.
- Takes patient assignment when necessary.
- Coordinate staff breaks and lunches.
- Provide direction and guidance for staff members concerning individual competencies.
- Assist Pre-Op/PACU personnel in the evaluation of current practice through quality and performance improvement activities.
- Conduct Pre-Op/PACU orientations.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and manage change within the Pre-Op/PACU area.
- Coordinates with OR Charge nurse to manage patient census, patient acuity, allocation of resources.
- Reports equipment issues to nurse manager
- Ensure accuracy of medical records.
- Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York State R.N. license.
- BCLS, ACLS required PALS preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience as an OR Nurse, preferably in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Charge experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Reliable transportation is essential.
40 hours per week

Salary : $42 - $56
